The foreshore and marina in the town of Nelson Bay are surrounded by hills and there are many elevations that offer exceptional views of the waterway. Dolphin and whale watching cruises run daily from the marina and there is always an array of large boats at anchorage. The waters at fly point are part of the Port Stephens and Great Lakes Marine Park and offer amazing snorkling and world class shore dives.
