This collection of drone images was photographed around Fingal Bay and the famous yet tretcherous 'Spit'. The 'Fingal Spit' was once solid and covered in vegetation however a huge storm known as the Maitland Gale washed this away to leave the shifting sands and tidal spit that we see today.
Fingal island may still be accessible however it is dependant on the ocean swell, tides and shifting sands. On the Island there are walking trails through the Tomaree National Park that lead to the Fingal Lighthouse and the ruins of the former caretaker's cottage.
